Rane Polytechnic established the Industry Institute Interaction cell in 2013, as a closer interaction between industry and academics was the acutely felt need in most colleges. The Industry interaction provides a platform for both students and faculty members to be aware of the industry expectations of the skill sets required for the students. The students are exposed to industry through regular industrial visits from the first year and week long in-plant trainings during summer vacation. The faculty members are also provided a ‘Sabbatical training’ in various Rane’s plants which includes their training off-campus, in-plant, exposing them towards contemporary technologies and safe industry practices. The students and staff are enriched with the knowledge on 5S practices, Quality circles in action, Visual Control systems and Standard Operating Practices.
